Dow Gardens is a great place to visit when you're in Midland. I often take for granted this beautiful oasis in the midst of Midland where there are always beautiful arrangements of flowers and landscaping no matter what the season. Great for just walking around and soaking it in or for pictures for all occasions. We also love the children's garden for our kids. They have a great time playing with the bubbles, watering cans, and brooms, and they get to learn about vegetables and how things grow from watching the garden grow and change on each visit.
I visited on a fall day when the leaves had fallen and the flowers were all gone. It was absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to visit again when the flowers are in full bloom.
Love this place and the wonderful event that was all for free! We went to the Xmas walk which was during night time. The bands we're great they play wonderfully despite a frozen night. The candles lit all through the walk were romantic. We even walked through the residential areas and they were nice enough to take part too. Not to mention the tropical greenhouse was a very good break from the outside. Overall it was a great family fun full of peace and tranquility
It's definitely worth checking out if you've never been there before. There's always more to see when you think you've already explored it all. The butterfly exhibit is a lot of fun to see (even if it's extremely humid in there) but if you're an Ingress or PokemonGo player, it's absolutely worth your time to get an annual pass. Different exhibits come and go throughout the seasons so there's always something to be involved with.
Brought our 1.5 year old to explore the gardens. They had a farm program going on which was so much fun and educational. Kids were able to pick vegetables and fruits, and participate in activities. We enjoyed our trip and will definitely be back again soon.
